Driver Bio

Urmo Aava is an Estonian rally driver that was born on February 2, 1979. During his early auto racing career, he competed in various rally championships, including Rallysprint in 1998, the Estonian N2 Rally Championship from 1998 to 2000, and the Estonian N3 Rally Championship in 2001. For the 2002 racing season, he made his World Rally Championship debut in Finland, but ended up retiring from the event.

After his rather unsuccessful WRC Finland debut, Urmo Aava shifted his focus to the Junior World Rally Championship. During the five years that he competed in the Junior series, he did quite well, claiming two victories - the first at the 2006 J-WRC event in Turkey and the other at the 2007 J-WRC event in Sardinia. This success would also place him second in points during the 2006 and 2007 racing seasons.

By 2007 however, Urmo Aava was ready to make his move back to a World Rally Championship team. In anticipation, he raced in three WRC events in 2007, before signing a ten round deal with Citroen C4 WRC in 2008. With only competing in 10 of the total 16 races that year, Aava managed to score 13 points and finish the season 11th in points.

For the 2009 season, Urmo Avaa returned to the World Rally Championship circuit with a limited racing schedule. He competed for the Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Rally Team.
