Sunoco Daytona Challenge winner and 2011 British F3 champion Felipe Nasr travels back to the UK with Sunoco GRAND-AM 200 Challenge winner Aaron Steele to meet the press at the Autosport International Racing Car Show. Not only do they launch the 50th anniversary of the Daytona 24 hour race with GRAND-AM's Alana France and David Petit but they also get to drive in the popular Charity Kart race with stars such as Andy Priaulx, David Brabham, former stig Ben Collins and many rising young stars.
Am 31 März 1994 starb Roland Ratzenberger, als er eine Frontflügel hälfte verlor und mit 300 Km/h in die Villenueve Kurve einschlug. The victory for the GT1 debutants was the second of the weekend after taking the honours in the Qualifying Race the previous day. Second was the DKR www-discount.de Lamborghini No.47 of Manuel Lauck and Christopher Haase and third were Clivio Piccione and Stef Duseldorp in the Hexis Aston Martin No.3. The 15 points for the French squad enabled them to secure the 2011 teams' championship with 235 points in a tense battle which went to the wire. Second overall was the JRM Nissan team on 232 points and third was Young Driver Aston Martin on 231. A six-car pile-up on the main straight soon after the lights went green claimed the JRM Nissan GT-R No.23 of the drivers' championship winners Lucas Luhr and Michael Krumm. Both All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport Lamborghinis, the No.21 Sumo Power GT Nissan GT-R of David Brabham were also casualties. The No.7 Young Driver Aston Martin of Alex Muller and the Sumo Power Nissan GT-R No.20 of Enrique Bernoldi were also involved but were able to continue.
