At the Porsche Dealer's launch event for the all-new 981-series Boxster models, we had the opportunity to drive the new Boxster S on the track at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. Barber is the home to Porsche Sport Driving School USA, (888) 204-7474 or porschedriving.com. I wish I could remember my driver's name, but all I do remember is laughing the whole way through the drive!
With ReZoom Motorsports at Barber Motorsports Park, November 2012. Great save by the Miata (GeneSplicer260) keeping it off the wall, and a great sounding 911 midway through the clip. Hope you don't mind the helmet view. Shot with a Contour HD for the drivers-eye view.
It's not often that Patrick Long has time to relax. The three-time ALMS GT2 Driver's Champion and Le Mans winner is Porsche's only American Factory Driver. When at the Porsche Sport Driving School at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, Patrick took the opportunity to help fellow Porsche driver Hurley Haywood with one of his morning routines: Fetching a cup of coffee as fast as possible. SuperMobile Performance Tuned 2000 Mustang GT beating the Porsches and BMW's at their own game... I am running in the most advanced Instructor / Solo group with PBOC at Barber Motorsports Park. The suspension was mildly modded (Still a pretty comfy street driver), it has sticky 275-40-17 Hankook R compounds, 3.73 gears and the engine is bone stock save for a drop-in K&N.
Compilation of some of my quickest laps to date around Barber Motorsports park. This was shot in Nov 06 aboard my 2000 Mustang GT with a moderately modified suspension, shorter gears, Hankook R compounds, no weight reduction and a bone stock engine.

Midleweight Solo 16 Expert from Barber Motorsports Park, Kris Turner Starts last on the Turner's Cycle Triumph Daytona 675R and takes the lead on the second lap.
One of the early sessions on Day 1 of the Kevin Schwantz School. We were not allowed to pass, but we did get to take turns leading, by trading positions on the front straight. Unfortunately I wasn't in front when they shot my lap for the DVD. Not too bad for my very first time ever on a track, riding a 600, which was also a new experience for me. I was running in the Intermediate group, I never quite got fast enough to make it to Advanced. I was the only girl there and ended up getting "Runner-Up Most Improved Rider" honors, which I thought was pretty cool and earned me a jacket. I like swag!
Cass Whitehead (Porsche Driving School) and John Bassett from Porsche of Monterey taking some hot laps at Barber Motorsports Park during the new Porsche Boxster 981 launch. Cass amazed me in this new 981 Boxster S by far exceeding my expectations of the car, and I had set the bar pretty high. I had just driven it myself only a few hours before on the same track. 1;47 laps with ease in a 2013 981 Boxster S at Barber.......
Zoom Racing World's 1st week of may has been exciting, here three little clips off the action. First, the Timken Truck Series, then the Ping GTP (both at Barber Motorsports Park) and last a practise spin in the KONI ITA Series at Mid-Ohio.
