James Sofronas Wins at Thunderbolt Raceway in NJ

James Sofronas, of Global Motorsports Group, grabbed the win at Thunderbolt Raceway in the New Jersey Motorsports Park. His Porsche 911 GT3 was only 0.17 seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Brandon Davis, who was driving a Ford Mustang Cobra. Finishing third through fifth were Andy Pilgrim, Jason Daskalos, and Brian Simo respectively.

Oswaldo Negri Jr. and Mark Patterson Win In New Jersey

Oswaldo Negri Jr. and Mark Patterson of Michael Shank Racing grabbed the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series win at New Jersey Motorsports Park. It was the pair’s first win of the season.

Leading the pack in GT was the TRG Porsche driven by Tim George Jr. and Andy Lally. They came in 14th position overall.

The top teams ranked by class included:

Daytona Prototype:
1. Michael Shank Racing – Ford Riley – Oswaldo Negri Jr., Mark Patterson
2. SunTrust Racing – Pontiac Dallara – Max Angelelli, Michael Valiante
3. Alex Job Racing – Porsche Riley – Bill Auberlen, Joey Hand

Grand Touring:
1. TRG – Porsche GT3 – Tim George Jr, Andy Lally
2. Stevenson Motorsports – Pontiac GXP.R – Andrew Davis, Robin Liddell
3. Matt Connolly Motorsports – Pontiac GTO.R – Diego Alessi, Ryan Phinny

BGB Motorsports Takes Overall Win in New Jersey

The BGB Motorsports Porsche 997 driven by Jon Miller and Craig Stanton won the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series race held on August 30, 2008 at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

The top ranking ST team was the Bill Fenton Motorsports Honda Civic driven by Bob Beede and Matt Plumb.

The class leaders were:

2. Motorsport Technology Group – BMW Z4 M – L.-P. Dumoulin, Billy Johnson
